Lagoa - a traditional Algarve town with all modern amenities

Lagoa Lagoa is located in central Algarve, classified as a city, it used to sit above the lagoon (hence the name), it is the head of the municipality and includes the parishes of Carvoeiro, Ferragudo, Estombar & Parchal and Porches and covers an area of approximately 89m2. The town is closely located to some of the best beaches of the Algarve: Albandeira, Benagil, Carvoeiro and Marinha. These magical beaches are famous for their brightly coloured cliffs and crystal clear waters. In addition, Lagoa is only a short distance from the popular waterpark Slide & Splash and is an up and coming wine region.

It is located 4.5km from the coast and the city houses the council, finance department, land registry, various health centre and schools. It is considered a more residential area but the surrounding area and countryside offers some beautiful countryside villas close to golf courses and all amenities. It consists of a mix of new houses and old (18th century) houses. There is a great mixture of typical restaurants, tapas in Lagoa at more accessible prices than some of the coastal resorts. The central historical part of the city is being rejuvenated and there are some beautiful, traditional properties available – a good spot to look for something different.
